Sadika Keskes, Creator and Artist

After studying at the School of Fine Arts in Tunis, SADIKA followed an advanced training in glass craft in Murano, near Venice. Back in Tunisia, she built her own kiln and started to produce her first art objects, thus reviving the craft of glassblowing which had been abandoned since the 14th century in Tunisia. In parallel to her theoretical and practical research on the manufacture of Punic glass, SADIKA has brought a new design to handcrafted art objects by creating tableware, vases, home or garden lighting where glass is combined with iron, silver, wood, etc...

Beyond her activities as a glassmaker, SADIKA has a life as an actual artist that has allowed her to participate in many shows, personal and collective, all over the world. Several works she has produced have been purchased by museums.

In Gammarth, near Carthage, she has created a decoration and design office. She has also created a center for the rehabilitation of arts and crafts where she works to put the traditional know-how of her country at the service of art objects whose design is resolutely contemporary.
